Call Out for Set and Costume Designer and Maker for ACE funded R&D of Thumbelina, an interactive performance for children and their families.
Choreographer/Director Rachel Dean is looking for someone to design and make set/props/costumes:
-To transform an everyday place into a magical one
-That help to create an interactive, sensorily rich experience and inspire the young audience to move, touch and explore
-That allow film to be projected onto the set as an integrated part of the piece
-To transform the characters as they take on different roles
The collaborative design process will begin in the New Year and continue with several studio visits once we are in the studio in Leeds/Bradford in March – May 2021. Outcomes at the end of this phase are prototypes for us to work with, flexible design ideas and a few completed elements. The intention is to continue to work together to create the final set in the next phase.
Fee £1,500 inclusive of holiday pay. Materials budget £1,000. There is no additional allowance for accommodation or travel as it is anticipated that the Designer will be West Yorkshire based.
