Weekly CI classes in Leeds from May! With Rachel Dean and Vanessa Grasse

© Andy Wood

Contact Improvisation is a movement form grounded in moving in contact with another person and learning to negotiate gravity together. Based around physical communication, personal responsibility and mutual respect, it can be wild and acrobatic or gentle and meditative. It is fluid and constantly changing with no fixed roles, giving opportunities to discover your physical potential in a safe, exploratory context.

The classes will focus on developing sensitivity and strength, leading to playful and physical dancing. We will develop the skills needed to share weight whilst remaining safe and independent in the dance. Suitable for all bodies, levels of physical ability and experience, you just need an enquiring mind.
